Community Voices Training
The Community Voices Training programme is run by PPRC's Community Action Team.
Bespoke training courses are delivered to develop the skills of community group members in Renfrewshire.
Some examples of recent courses.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Constituted Community group members and volunteers from across Renfrewshire undertook a one day portable appliance testing course to enable them to PAT test their own IT equipment.
Committee Skills Formal committee skills courses comprise of two sessions. Session one covers the roles and responsibilities of office bearers. Session two involves participants in a role play situation at a committee meeting.
Minute Taking Workshops An interactive, facilitator led, three hour workshop requested by Community council members who wanted to improve the quality and structure of their minute taking skills.
Steps to Excellence through Personal Success (STEPS) course Community group members and volunteers are encouraged by a qualified facilitator to co-create their learning through interactive discussions, personal reflection time, the use of DVDs and activities utilising a wide variety of learning styles. CV training has applied STEPS with success in a variety of settings. The STEPS concept provides a common language for articulating a vision of a better future and offers a proven approach to making the vision a reality.
Cooking and Eating for Health This course was developed for health focused community groups. The six week course is community led. Facilitated in the community by a volunteer who undertook CV training in Food Hygiene, Food and Health and Nutritionists Toolkit training (developed by NHS dieticians).
