Information event for winter school leavers

Tue, 17 Nov 2009

Potential school leavers are being offered the chance to find out what options are available to them at an event for 16 and 17 year olds who are considering leaving at Christmas time.

The event, at St Mirren Park, Paisley, is taking place on Thursday 19 November from 9.30am-1pm. Employment agencies, training providers and further education providers will be on hand to talk to pupils and provide advice on how they can take the first steps to a bright future.

The event will give those who come along the opportunity to speak to representatives from the various organisations about their options.

Agencies attending include Reid Kerr College, Equal Access to Employment, Spark of Genius, Protocol Training, Skills Development Scotland and Jobcentre Plus.

The Renfrewshire Workforce Plus event has been organised by the More Choices more Chances team in conjunction with Renfrewshire Council, Skills Development Scotland, Reid Kerr College and Jobcentre Plus.

Any school leavers looking to find out what options are available to them can call Careers Scotland on 0845 8 502 502.

Renfrewshire's Workforce Plus Programme is a partnership initiative funded through the Scottish Government's Fairer Scotland Fund and European Structural Funds.
