Learners from across Renfrewshire were congratulated on their
achievements at the fourth annual Adult Learner's week event held at the
Tannahill Centre in Ferguslie Park. Everyone completing training was presented
with a certificate to show all training undertaken by them through the
Community Voices (CV) programme.
CV has encouraged community group members to
celebrate their success every year since May 2007. Attendance at the event is usually
in the region of two hundred adults. Reid Kerr College students were also
presented with their certificates during the shared presentation. Reid Kerr College
students provided; pampering, dance, photography and computing tasters.
Over 1,000 people have participated in 186 training courses through
Renfrewshire's CV programme over the past four years. Iain Cunningham,
Senior Development Officer with the Community Action
Team said, "The aim of the Community Voices Programme is to encourage
more people to become involved in their local communities and improve their
skills and knowledge. We'd like to congratulate everyone who has undertaken
training and wish them all the best with their continuing studies."
The informal ceremony, held in the Tannahill Centre in Ferguslie Park,
was hosted by the Community Action Team with
Denis Docherty from Reid Kerr College and Alan
McNiven from PPRC presenting people with their certificates. Denis
Docherty stated that "Reid
Kerr College
is delighted to work in partnership with PPRC to deliver training in local
venues that increases knowledge and skills for the benefit of both the students
and the local community".
Since being established in 2006, a wide variety of bespoke training
courses have been set up through PPRC's CV programme to suit a range of
abilities. The Community Action team works closely with Reid Kerr College, RAMH,
